  • The American Symphony Orchestra League recognized the Erie Philharmonic as "one of the finest regional orchestras in America" at their national conference in June 2004
  • Recent awards/recognitions include:
      2006 Bracken Award for Excellence in Governance presented by the Erie Community Foundation
      Inaugural "Neighborhood Awards" which were presented by the Pennsylvania Public Television Network in recognition of the organization of Erie's first annual Heritage Festival, September 2005. The award was received jointly with WQLN.
  • The orchestra is 93 years old and one of the oldest in the country.
  • The Erie Philharmonic has an operating budget of over $1 million making it one of the largest arts organizations in the region.
  • Musicians of the Erie Philharmonic have about 600 cumulative years of experience playing their instruments
  • The Philharmonic's fully professional musician roster is comprised of local musicians and musicians coming from as far away as Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Rochester and Buffalo
  • The total value of musical instruments on stage exceeds $1 million
  • The Warner Theatre is one of only 6 remaining in the US and the only fully restored Warner Theatre still in existence
  • The 2006-2007 season: Five Batons, One Podium – The Search for Excellence involves the search for a new music director. Five candidates have been selected from a field of over 200. Each will conduct one of the five concerts in the Scott Enterprises Symphonic Series. Special guest artists in the series include Pianist Santiago Rodriguez, Cellist Matt Haimovitz, our own musicians in the spotlight and the Erie Philharmonic Chorus.
  • Highlights of the Hanes Erie Pops Series include the best showtunes with "Three Broadway Divas," Barry Manilow's music "At the Copa," a "Night of Silent Film," and the popular "Cherish the Ladies," will present a "Celtic Celebration." Of course, Erie's premier holiday tradition is back with our two holiday concerts – fun for the entire family!
  • The Young Erie Professional's New Attitude Series (3 selected concerts) is new this year and is geared toward those who enjoy a night on the town filled with music, friends and fun.
